Choosing a Baby Book

Choosing a baby book is hard.

I think everyone I know has the same baby book from when they were young.
I guess hospitals use to give them out to new parents before they took their little bundle of joy home.
I wish that they still did that, because choosing a baby book was much harder than I originally expected.
Hard enough that I didn’t choose one until after Jaxon was already here and home.

After searching amazon, book stores and Hallmark-type stores for 9 months I finally decided to order the C.R. Gibson 5 year memory book.

After it arrived, I couldn’t have been happier.
It was basically the updated version of the book that my mom had for me, back in the 80’s.
In fact, with the company being from the 1890’s, it may be the actual updated version of my baby book.

It has more than 30 archival quality, acid free and lignin free decorative pages to collect and preserve memories from pregnancy through baby's 5th birthday.

I highly recommend that you check it out!
I love ours!

First Christmas and Holiday Fun

This year will be Jaxon’s first Christmas.

Because Jake comes from a split family, holidays tend to be a big deal and a lot of parties.
This past week we were able to celebrate Christmas with Jake’s Dad’s family.
Dressing up for the parties is a lot of fun for me, even if it takes a little more planning now that I have a whole family to get ready.

Hair, makeup, nails, diaper bag, kid, husband…

(I have had my eye on low maintenance nail fun for a while. Check out this awesome holiday manicure!)

I LOVE it!

Jaxon doesn’t nurse or sleep all that well when we are out and about.
Keeping a kid on a schedule is a little harder than we imagined, when it comes to the holiday.
I took some time to take Jaxon to his cousin’s room for a little quiet time to nurse and catch a quick cat nap.

After eating some great food and watching the kids tear into presents we went to church to see Gabe in his Christmas concert.
It was so cute, watching him on stage, in his bowtie… staring at the worship leader like he was crazy.

What is it with kids on stage. I don’t think I’ve seen anything so hilarious!
Last week, at Noah’s pageant/concert, Noah didn’t really do his little dance moves, but ended the songs with a very large bow.

I can’t wait to see Jaxon in those situations.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, everyone!!
