My Car

It's not up and running quite yet...

Actually it's giving my wonderful, awesome, skilled, talented, loving papa a little trouble.

You see, my car has been sitting in my parents driveway for a year. Yeah, yeah. I know. but in that year there has been a little rust. (not significant. dad went after it with a hammer and everything was sound) But the bigger things that have died in the process of sitting (other than the already dead motor) have been the breaks and the battery.

The breaks are frozen. I don't know what that means. Dad just said that once the motor is in we'll see if they get unfrozen. Joy. But if things don't work out we're trading that dumb car in for a new(er) one.

Battery is no biggy. We'll switch that piece o' shiza out and get a new one.

Jake, my ever financial minded hubs, isn't thrilled with the idea of trading the car in. He likes our bank account to be nice an cushy all the time.... And he makes me nervous enough that I try to please him. (come on now the idea of another quarter of school for me, the uncertainty of the job market right now and looming med school makes me almost pee my pants due to fear.)

So we're needing some prayers that we'll get our money's worth plus some extra out of this damn car. let it last until Christmas and I'll be happy. Even longer and I'll kiss it's rusty undercarriage.... Get my point here?

Heaven Help Me

The iced Mocha Cappuccino at Tim Horton's.....
Don't try it. It's gonna kill any will power you have to pass a Tim Horton's without crying a little.
And to top it all off.... Whipped cream with chocolate drizzle.....
I die.

Pandora Love Cont.

Since this Pandora Post a while ago my bracelet has grown. Here is an update on my charms! (I know, you care soo much.... But deal with it. lol. Tough love my Loves!)

I recieved the Suitcase from Jake's mom to symbolize all the traveling I was doing to San Antonio and DC when Jake was in AIT.Jake's mom gave me the wedding cake as a wedding present the day of the wedding! Jake let me but this little one on our cruise. It has an anchor, a cross and a heart. I think it's adorable!MIL gave me the christmas tree to represent our first christmas together! Then SIL gave me the girraffe for my birthday. (it's my favorite animal!)
So that is what I have on my bracelet in addition to my previous charms. Yay!

Thankful Thursday

I'm always so thankful for the things in my life. I know that I have so much to be thankful for.

  • Falling asleep with Hubs unintentionally - Who cares if it was late and we were vegging out watching Mythbusters.

  • Advil - right now it's my number 1 due to pressure headaches. thank you rain that's coming today.

  • Hand Lotion - The MK kind called 'Hydration Lotion' is the most amazing lotion I've ever had. It's a larger bottle, perfect for desk use and I only have to apply it once.... Yay for 10 hour hydration and the silkiest hands ever minus the overwhelming and obnoxious smell that comes with scented lotions.

  • Cereal you can eat out of the box at work - Yay Quaker oatmeal squares!

  • The quest for healthy hair - here I come sulfate and dimethicone free hair care with a little added protein!

  • The Gym - I never thought I'd be one to say this but man I really do like having a gym membership so I can go run away my stress. I love it when my legs ache the next day... or even 2 days after.

An Introduction

This is my car....

OK well not really my car, but a web version of my car... Same color and year, just in vision a little wing-tail on the trunk.... dumb but unique.

My car has been dead for a year.
Yes a year.

But recent things have put in motion the resurrection of my lovely, old bitty of a car.

I bought her a new motor!

Yeah I know. 'Erin.... You had to replace a 1997 Saturn with a new motor? This is a motor we're talking about here.'

Yes a motor. It was between paying $500 for a 91000 mi motor or spending $4-5 thousand in getting a new (used) car... I opted for the cheaper idea and I will run this beast into the ground. all in preparation for getting one of these lovely things when the time (and savings) is right.

The Honda Fit - 31mpg... So purty!
The Honda Civic Hybrid - 42 mpg ...classic
Or the Honda Insight - 41 mpg....Futuristic and flashy!
I love them all along with the high mpg that comes with them. It may be a while, but I'm gonna have one eventually. I'll save some of the environment and have a slammin' ride on top of it. Watch out!
Day dreaming aside, she'll be up and running by the end of the month, hopefully... if all goes according to plan... Which with my family hardly ever happens... So keep a look out for celebratory tweets and blog posts talking about my soon to be rediscovered freedom of travel. I'm giddy just thinking about it.

Oh Yeah

Man am I forgetful. Yes this weekend was awesome!

On Sat. Jake was home and after rehearsal for Hilliard Arts Council's Oliver I went home to hang out with him.

We ended up meeting up with Big Sis and Brad for lunch. Max and Erma's is amazing. I highly suggest the pretzel sticks.

After that we went to a few stores and then went to the Gahanna Jazz Fest, It was pretty cool. None of us had ever been before and it was a really relaxing and fun to walk around, people watch and listen to local talent. One of the groups that was there was called Long Tall Deb and the Drifter Kings (I'm pretty sure at least) They were amazing!

Sunday Jake had to work but everyone else went to the Zoo for a nice, sunny, beautiful day with my dad. I'll post pics by the end of the week. There were some interesting encounters with a grizzly... The pics I took are so cool and don't even get half of it! I adore the Zoo. Jake and I got a pass for my bridal shower and this is only the second time I've used it.... Jake hasn't even been since he came home last summer.... Not even the zoo lights for us. Sad times. I plan to fix that this summer. Hey I've got it free until October! Yeah Baby!

Anyway. Classes started yesterday. I'm going to go now and see if I can get into another one.... Joy.

My Harmless Addiction

Yeah...... Guilty as charged....

What's your harmless addiction?

Thankful Thursday

Well since I skipped some weeks of TT I'll make up for it for posting a million things I'm thankful for.

  • Hubs. He's so sweet and lets me do pretty much what I want.... I'm the one that lets the conscience rule the day.

  • Family. they're so awesome. and understanding... And they let you vent frustration without repercussions.

  • Blog Loves who stick with me through think and (the recently obviously) thin. Keep reading and commenting Loves. Let me know you missed me!!! lol

  • School being out for the week. Summer classes start on Monday.

  • Free Fridays. I'm possible not even going to be working on Fridays anymore! score!

  • Working Cars.... OK so mine isn't quite working yet.. But it might be my the end of July! And that is exciting.

  • Su Doku... It's a great time waster.

  • Naps. They're the best...

  • Pay Days!

  • Not Moving. (I'll post about this later)

  • Glasses... I think they're saving my life a day at a time... OK maybe just my eyes.

  • And PETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait to see what this summer brings!

Vintage Glam

So last month Big Sis and I went out onthe town for a few hours to hang out and be photogenic for our lovely Mrs. Kama.I love being a total ham with my sister... And Kama has anded up being someone I really enjoy. She's so talented and funny. Plus she likes goofy... And if anything we can all claim that i, and my family, are just that.So anyway. I wanted to get a few headshots done for the theatre career that I imagine in my head (not really, I'm thinking about getting things going with that this upsoming year) and I decided that since it probably wouldn't take the whole 2 hours that a session lasts that I'd make my sister come and we'd play dress up. The clothes were easy. Doing my hair inbetween was the only hard part.... And the rest is history. Check out the result.
