Catch Up Day

Hi Friday.... Where did you come from?

This week has been pretty hectic. OK not entirely... But it's been crazy.

Jake is now waking up with me and heading straight to Dayton after dropping me off at the parents house (so Big Sis can drive me in to work/school) But it means that when I come home from anything I have going on that evening he's already in bed. Last night I went to bible study and was home by 9:30. I opened the door to a pitch black house and a hubs already in bed......

I'm sorry how old are we?!

Yeah. So needless to say I'm feeling more rested than I have in like 9 million years. My whole college career I've always run on less than a full nights sleep.... Sometimes no sleep at all (Pssssshhhhh. Study? Now don't go thinking that I've ever stretched myself. The over-nighters were mainly to read books like the Harry Potter or Twilight series.... I think even a Dan Brown book once...)

But the problem is..... My house has to be guest ready for tonight's Game Night.....

Is it?......... No...

Did Hubs clean last night?

Well he told me that he cleaned the kitchen after he made General Tso's for dinner........ In my book, that doesn't count. Fail.

That means I get to clean house (meaning stashing things behind closed doors and vacuuming.... which is the opposite of what I want to do) tonight when I get home at 5... until 630 when people start showing up...

And the hubs? he doesn't get off work until 7..... Which puts him at home by 8:30-ish....

Oy vey!!!

Wedding Wednesday: Honeymoon

So since I'm all out of pictures from the wedding until my awesome photographer, Kama, gets done perfecting (I'll take nothing less. lol) and editing my pics, I give you....

We will start off with packing. I started packing the day after the wedding. We had two whole weeks consisting of finals and papers to write... But I was determined to pack smart.... Which obviously meant heavy. My bag topped off at 53lbs... A few pairs of heels strategically placed in my carry on fixed that problem.... Little did I know that Jake's was only 24lbs...... Jerk.

My papa picked us up on that Saturday at, yes you guessed it, 5:00am... AM... Got that? We got to the C-Bus airport at 5:30 to catch out plane that took off at 6am. (Yeah... I wasn't thrilled... but Jake's dad gave us his flier miles :) ....)

Once on the plane I was wide awake

and transferring addresses into my new little black book. (I was planning on writing thank you cards on the way to and from.) It took the entire trip to Baltimore and Ft. Lauderdale to finish putting all the names and addresses into that thing. I was a little discouraged.

Once in Ft. Lauderdale we shed our jackets and stood in the rain/mist sunshine waiting for our taxi shuttle. And finally, after a 45 min drive we made it to the Hilton in Miami! We had the best view of the port and downtown.

I didn't take pictures of our time in the Hilton but we managed to stay in and order the WORST pizza I've ever had. It was an actual pizza place and their pizza tasted worse than any frozen pizza I've ever had.

But we boarded the boat the next morning, so I couldn't complain.

Family Game Night: Preping

We'll It's another week. I hesitated blogging on top of my Monday MK thing because I really wanted to see if people cared about my reviews even if they didn't buy the product. So far.... I don't think anyone cares. lol. Which is OK. It's all about trial and error.

This week is going to be interesting.

I'll start with back story.

Jake got his rad-tech job which really ended up being a GXMO job.... (I don't know what the heck that means, so if someone does please assist.) His training is all this week, in DAYTON, from 9-5. the paycheck will be awesome. Not seeing my hubs will not be.

Jake had drill this weekend. Waking up at 5:30 and coming back home at 4. Not awesome.... I feel like I haven't seen my hubs at all.

This week is going to consist of a midterm on Wed. (tomorrow), bible study on Thurs., and family game night on Fri.... Followed by a MK event on Sat. It's going to be curzy.

I'm so excited about FGN (family game night). MIL and I decided to start it so that we could see everyone once a month. We never dreamed it would be so popular. We made rules for the event and everything. Each person that hosts can invite 1-2 guest households to participate. Jake and I are hosting this month..... We're geeking out a little and are going to try to fit the 10+ people into our little place. (I WILL have pics to show you how it went.) I'm excited though. It's going to be our first real house party! Yay for being adults.... Boo for cleaning. Hahaha.

Anyway. So the rest of this week will be me cleaning EVERYTHING in our place. Joy.

I do like that I wont have to worry about cooking anything except a small dish to serve. It's a pot luck style event with BYOB. Awesome for every budget. (Plus this way the host isn't going broke in the process)

The 'Winner, Winner chicken dinner' for the evening gets the joy of displaying the FGN Crunk Cup. That's right. I have to go find a absolutely ridiculous, over the top, perfect gag trophy for the event. It will be passed off at each FGN to the new winner to be displayed out in the open for all to see..... I don't have it yet.... But I'm scheming.

So I'll let you know how it goes, what dish I make, and get a pic of the trophy and sardine action that's going to happen the night of. Wish me luck, Loves!

Mary Kay Monday Review: Satin Lips

Today's Product:

Satin Lip Set, $18

Satin Lip Mask, $9.50 (.3oz)
Satin Lip Balm, $9.50 (.3oz)

Product Description: Get satiny smooth lips that stay moisturized for at least six hours in two steps. Buffs away dry skin, then moisturizes to help keep lips soft.

My Experience:
Before this I was using Bath & Bodywork's sugar scrub lip balm and I was more into eating the sugar crystals than scrubbing my lips with it.

I started using the Satin Lip Set on our honeymoon, (so, recently) and I was at first weirded out by the whole lip mask situation. Your supposed to smooth the mask on your lips and let it stay for 1-2 mins.... I felt like a walking dead. But once I rubbed it off with warm water I was really caught by surprise. My lips were softer. The mask wasn't harsh or abrasive like the sugar crystals... It also wasn't really awesome tasting like the sugar scrub... But there is a small amount of granular in the mask.... And when you gently rub off the mask with warm water (I kinda buff it off with a warm damp cloth) the granules take off just a small layer of the dead skin that's there.... (gross, I know). Smoother lips = cool.

But that's not the best part.....

The BEST part of the set is the lip balm. OMG. If I could use that till the end of time I would. it is the silkiest lip balm ever. It comes out of the angled opening like any other balm.... But it is awesome. there is a light gloss. Nothing like crazy lip gloss. There is no sticky feeling AT ALL. It's just silky smooth. I normally do the set before bed and the moisture lasts until the next morning... no joke. It's not slimy or greasy.... It's awesome, especially during these dry months of winter.

I loved using the set on the cruise, even on the day that i think my lips got burnt from falling asleep when we were laying out. It was gentle enough to not hurt, abrasive enough to get the dead stuff off, and enough moisture to keep my lips from the 'after burn chap/lip peeling' experience.

True thoughts, Loves <3

Last night, with the 3 gift cards and the 10% Target discount (that I wanted to use at least once before Jake quit), Jake and I got a replacement camera for the one that I broke at the fab Mrs. G's wedding back in September. (the one that I helped set up for)

Here it is!

That's right... It's blue.

So look out. Pictures will be coming in full force starting this weekend.

Thankful Thursdays

Today I'm thankful for:

-New Jobs. Jake's so excited and relieved to have a job in his field of work. No more worrying about not making it this month. Yay for a little time worry free.

- New Opportunities. I have so many thing I want to accomplish. I'm hoping that i can just get over my fear of rejection and get out there and DO IT. Wish me luck.

- Family. They're the best. I'm so proud that I can call many in my fam. my best friends. No I don't feel like that's the words of a person who has none. That's the words of someone who loves their family.

- New toys. (stop it you dirty) I love getting the latest and greatest gadgets. Or maybe they're just new to me... But Jake and I got a rice steamer last night.... along with a mini deep fryer and a water filtration thing to go on our faucet. I'm excited.

- Makeup. if people had to see me sans makeup all day.... I'm sure I'd have less friends. lol.

- Eye cream. happiness in a tube.

Wishful Wednesday: Golden Globes 2010 Gown

I want to do this too..... I don't care that I'm doing Wedding Wednesday already... You are going to just have to deal with two posts a day.

'I wish' .... I could have worn the gown that ______ wore at the 67th Annual Golden Globes Award!

Um... Ginifer Goodwin!!!!!

Is there any more adorabl-ness lurking around?
I thought not!

I love the look from the stunning color to the the awesome draping to the curve worshiping going on there to the stellar black pumps to the awesome chic pale goddess.

I think she looked the best by far with the adorable Lea Michele coming in a classy second.
