Well this weekend was a perfect fit for the stressful week I had. TOF's bridal shower was on Saturday.
It is so interesting to see the different life styles and choices that people and families make. I never realized how different whit and I were until this weekend. Not that its a bad thing, because it's not. But we're just really different. It'll be interesting to see her grow as a woman and a wife in the next few years.
Jake came home this weekend as well. It was a crazy weekend, like they always are..... but I feel it was more relaxed than it has been. while I was at the shower Jake's dad came down from the lake and fished with the twins. Jake got to hang out with his best friend who is deploying in July. We had Sunday brunch with my dad and my brother, who was home for the weekend from the police academy.... So it was a good weekend.
My bridesmaids are going this week/weekend to try on different dress styles! I am so excited we're getting things done.
I got my shoes. They're a little taller than I expected, but not taller than anything I already have. They are a little bit big and I'm contemplating sending them back to get the next 1/2 size down. But I'm torn. I love them so much I don't want them out of my sight.... but if they're enough too big its a problem. I'll have to ponder that... and try them on again for opinions.
p.s. 2 weddings getting planned at the same time is not conducive to peacefulness. Just FYI.
It's Ivory, 4 inches and was about as much as I would have paid in getting all the tools to make it. so... mine! Yay. And since it was so little maybe I'll get something else.... Like 1-2 packs of our invitations. we'll see though.
Caterer deposit is in my hands, I just have to send it out. I honestly should have put it in the mail last night, but I forgot. So bad form me.
Also on the to do list... Slimming our 302 guest list down to 225. Eww. That's horrible. I feel so bad. But it's my parents shelling out the $$ for the catering.
Well, June means it's almost July. Which means Jake will be home soon. So with that Jake and I have started the search for a place. Jake will be living alone until the wedding, and isn't too happy about it. But I figure at least we'll we in the same city... which is way better than being in the same state.... Which is 100% better than being in different states.
So we're looking for someplace with 2 bedrooms. Jake's OK with a town home or an apartment. I would like it to be either in the Hilliard area or in Grandview. Or just someplace where traffic isn't too bad and we can get to campus really easy. I would prefer to not live on or right off of Sawmill, but if we have to then that's OK. We have a cat and want to get a puppy in April of next year. (yes, right after the wedding) And we're hoping for a place in the 600 range.
But we have a bunch of furniture. This is our list per room
couch (big L shaped green thing that we both love)
2 overstuffed chairs (we probably wont be able to keep both...and that's what craigslist is for)
34 inch TV (or bigger. its not a flat screen so its heavy)
2 computer desks (he has one and i have one...)
2 desktop computers (for the desks... and yes we're keeping both computers)
2 computer desk chairs
wood framed chair
bed (its mine but we're going to get a new one and leave mine for my parents)
13 inch TV (yeah I'm cool)
Table and 4 chairs
Anyway. So if anyone can recommend places please let me know.
This is probably the one thing we've actually kinda fought about recently. It's weird. it was the whole town home v. apartment thing. It's getting stressful.
I'm trying to get all my shit together so I can try my dress on with my veil and a pair of shoes. I'm taking Big Sis' dancing shoes to be my first test. I don't think the heels are high enough.
This paycheck's buy will hopefully be either the invites or the catering deposit... if mom and dad can't cover it. Hopefully I wont have to worry about it.
Did everyone love the thunderstorm last night? It put me to sleep when I was supposed to be typing a paper. I know, I know... Bad form.
